Living with ADHD: It’s Different for Women [Video Replay & Podcast #546]

Access the video replay, listen to the podcast episode (#546), and learn how to get a certificate of attendance for this ADHD in women roundtable originally broadcast on March 4, 2025.

Episode Description

Just one generation ago, ADHD was considered a predominantly male disorder. For decades, clinician bias hindered diagnosis and treatment of ADHD symptoms in girls and women. We now know that untreated ADHD is even more impairing for some women than it is for men. We know this not because scientific evidence informs us; in fact, research has long neglected to investigate ADHD’s profound impact on women across the lifespan.

Instead, we know this because women with ADHD have been telling us for years about the heavy burden of living in a world not designed for them. How undiagnosed and untreated ADHD causes turmoil in their closest relationships. How It affects their performance in school and at work. How it shreds their self-esteem.

That’s why ADDitude has convened a special panel of experts to discuss the lived experiences of women with ADHD, the need for more research, and the importance of an open exchange of ideas to increase understanding and support.
